Planet Mum!

My request this Mother’s Day was no meal out or present, I wanted the boys to choose an outing that we’d enjoy together – a shared memory.

They came up with the Blue Planet Aquarium near Chester.

I wasn’t as keen as my suggestion of Go Karting, well, until I found out it was useless for my 5yrs old as you have to be at least 8yrs old to drive a kart! But it was their choice so I went with it. We had a fantastic time!

First we went to the Aqua Theatre and saw one of Europe’s largest collections of Big Sharks-Sand tigers, Lemon Sharks, Zebra Sharks Nurse Sharks, Black Tips and White Tips and saw the stingrays being fed.

The boys were really engaged and listening to everything the staff were telling us about the different animals. It was lovely to watch them enjoying the wild life and learning about them.

At the heart of Blue Planet Aquarium is the Aquatunnel, one of the longest underwater tunnels in the world. We were taken on a spectacular underwater safari on the moving walkway. It was a wonderful experience seeing all the ocean life swimming around us and up so close.

Do be warned though, it’s not a full day out, more like half a day and around £50 for a family of 4.

The car park is also a pay and display and if you get your ticket inside it’s £2.50. If you forget and get caught by the parking company it £10 so do be aware!

I hope all you special ladies out there had a wonderful Mother’s Day making memory’s with your family.

And let’s spare a thought for all those Mums that are no longer with us – like mine. Not around but never forgotten.

Xxxx
